Tennin Yan
Co-Founder & CEO
Inspired by an encounter with Prof. Keisuke Fujii, Tennin co-founded QunaSys in 2018 with Kosuke Mitarai. Their vision is to elevate quantum physics to the forefront, leveraging its principles to address challenges beyond the scope of conventional technology.
Tomoyo Matsuoka
COO
With a Ph.D. in Engineering from Kyoto University, Tomoyo joined QunaSys in January 2020 after her tenure at Arthur D. Little Japan, where she contributed to new business and strategy development within manufacturing industries, encompassing chemistry, materials, and automotive sectors.
Keita Kanno
CTO
With a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Tokyo, Keita joined QunaSys in April 2020 to focus on quantum algorithm research. He has been serving as the CTO since April 2023.
Toshio Sugaya
CFO
Toshio worked as CSO (strategy) & COO for SmartDrive, a mobility startup, to take the company public. His prior professional experience includes 15 years of investment banking and legal services, focusing on cross-border transactions. He joined QunaSys in October 2023

Prof. Keisuke Fujii
Senior Technical Advisor
With a Ph.D. in Engineering from Kyoto University, Prof. Fujii has been serving as a Professor at the Graduate School of Engineering Science at Osaka University since 2019. Additionally, he holds positions as the Deputy Director of the Center for Quantum Information and Quantum Biology at Osaka University and as a Team Leader at the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing.
Prof. Makoto Negoro
Technical Advisor
WIth a Ph.D. in Science from Osaka University, Prof. Negoro serves as the Deputy Director and Associate Professor at the Center for Quantum Information and Quantum Biology at Osaka University. Additionally, he holds the position of cross-appointed Team Leader at the National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology in Japan.
Prof. Wataru Mizukami
Technical Advisor
With a Ph.D. in Science from the Graduate University for Advanced Studies, Prof. Mizukami serves as a Professor at the Center for Quantum Information and Quantum Biology at Osaka University, focusing on quantum chemical calculations.
Prof. Kosuke Mitarai
Co-Founder & Technical Advisor
Co-founded QunaSys with Tennin Yan in 2018 while he was a graduate student, and later graduated from Osaka University with a Ph.D. in Engineering. Currently, Prof. Mitarai serves as an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Engineering Science at Osaka University.

Yoshihiro Ochi
CRO&Head of Sales
Bringing extensive experience as a sales executive and regional head at a leading global IT company, Yasuhiro joined QunaSys as the business executive in May 2023.
Shoichiro Tsutsui
Head of Research Development
Earned a Ph.D. in Science from the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University, specializing in nuclear physics. Worked as a researcher at the Institute of Particle and Nuclear Physics, High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK), and as a Special Postdoctoral Researcher at the Nishina Center for Accelerator-Based Science, RIKEN. Joined QunaSys as a researcher in April 2022.
Shota Takamuku
Head of Chemical Research Solution Division
Earned a Ph.D. in Engineering from Osaka University and worked on manufacturing process DX at a chemical company. Joined QunaSys in April 2022 to promote quantum computing adoption in the chemical and materials industries.
Toru Kawakubo
Head of Quantum Solution Division
After following theoretical research on quantum optics at the Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University, Toru transitioned to software product development in various companies. He joined QunaSys in April 2020 and is currently focused on developing software related to quantum algorithms.
Erik Stangerup
QunaSys Denmark CEO
With a BSc. in Computer Science and an MBA, Erik has held international executive roles at IBM, Sun Microsystems, Hitachi and a number of smaller companies in the semiconductor domain. He is currently the chairperson at TEGnology Corp. and serves at several industry boards and as a mentor at the Danish Technical University.
Sho Koh
Principal Researcher
With a Ph.D. in Science from University of Tokyo, Sho researched the behavior of molecules in intense laser fields using ab initio molecular dynamics and electronic dynamics simulation based on quantum chemistry techniques. He joined QunaSys in April 2020.
Yohei Ibe
Quantum Information Engineer
After completing his master's degree in Physics at Kyoto University, Yohei worked as a data analyst at an investment bank. Since joining QunaSys as an engineer in June 2019, he has been working on product development, joint research with client companies, and educational projects.
Jiabao Chen
Researcher
With a Ph.D. in Physics from Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, where he specialized in the theoretical and experimental study of low-temperature quantum systems, Jiabao joined QunaSys in January 2020 and focuses on applying quantum computation to chemistry and materials science.
Andreas Thomasen
Researcher
With a Ph.D. in Physics from Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, Andreas joined QunaSys in September 2021, bringing extensive experience in NISQ algorithm development, software development, and theoretical physics. His current research focuses on benchmarking algorithms and developing industry applications using real quantum computing systems.
Kai Watanabe
Business Development
After graduating from the Faculty of Science at Kyoto University, Kai joined the Research Center for Nuclear Physics at Osaka University, where he worked on Lattice QCD. He joined QunaSys in March 2022.
