QunaSys Launches a Consortium of LLM for Materials Development
QunaSys Inc., a leading innovator in quantum computing technology, is proud to announce the launch of a consortium aimed at fostering the research and application of Large Language Models (LLMs) in the field of materials development. This initiative seeks to bring together companies in exploring the potential of LLMs to revolutionize materials science through collaborative ‘pre-competitive’ research.
The integration of LLMs into materials development holds immense potential, but faces many challenges, such as establishing appropriate data management and security measures, when undertaken by individual companies. To address these challenges, QunaSys has initiated this consortium to work towards creating a practical and implementable LLM technology for materials development.
The consortium’s activities are planned to run from June 2024 to December 2024 and will be divided into two main programs. First, from June to September, the program will feature a series of presentations by distinguished speakers on the latest technology trends. The subsequent program, running from October to December, will focus on exploring use cases, in which participants will have the opportunity to replicate prior research and use cases where they can touch and feel LLMs using open data. This part will also enable participants to consider system requirements for incorporating external data into LLMs, providing guidance for companies wishing to integrate their internal data into LLMs. The program aims to let participants experience first-hand the potential of LLMs in materials development and generate ideas for their own use.
Renowned experts, Assistant Professor Kan Hatakeyama from the School of Materials and Chemical Technology at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, and Professor Teruyasu Mizoguchi from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Tokyo, will be among the featured speakers. The presentations will be followed by discussion sessions where the participants can directly interact with the experts to learn from their extensive knowledge and practical experiences.
The consortium warmly invites companies interested in materials science and LLM technology to participate. Through this initiative, participating companies will have the opportunity to get up to speed with the latest LLM research and explore potential applications in their own businesses.
